D&D General What class is this character, and is she wearing armor?

Clearly a bard. Singing-type. No head protection, a weapon so light it doesn't pull the belt down, plates in the least important places, and brand-new leather. The armor is probably bracers, worn on the wrong side of the forearm to protect against bowstrings.

She's a Tortle Wizard, obviously, wearing only a shell.
Or a mermaid with shell armor?

Yeah, I tried to do a quick and dirty recolor, but everything in her outfit is tan colored (just different shades) which let the edge finder wanting to select everything. If I wanted to waste hours fine-tuning every edge, I could probably make it look good (I'd also remove the elbow/knee patches) but if nothing else, it gives an idea of what the outfit might look like if it wasn't monotone.
i tried to colour-edit a similar type of character art some time back, the struggle is real.

Hey everyone, I wanted to thank you for your feedback. I'm just blown away by how much you all know about actual leather armor. :)

So while I think the artist may have intended on this being leather armor, it doesn't seem to fit the description the best. There were several good arguments for this being some sort of traveling clothes. The character I want to use this for likes wearing buckskin clothing to begin with, so I figure leather attire is just her thing.

I'm going to use this to represent a sorcerer. And as this is a Dragonlance character, lunar sorcery comes to mind.

Thanks, everyone!
