What class variants have you allowed or used?

Variant Classes

From mildly low-magic campaign:

Ranger/Archer: point blank shot and far shot for only one missile weapon category (bows, Xbows, slings, or thrown weapons) instead of ambi and 2-weapon in light armor. They can spend a feat to upgrade their virtual feats to real ones.

Mundane Ranger(/Archer): trade spell ability for 6 skill points per level, Sense Motive and Tumble as class skills, and a sneak attack starting at level 3 and getting +1d6 every 3 levels.

Mundane Bard: trade spell ability for proficiency in all bardic martial weapons, 8 skill points per level, bonus feats/abilities at levels 5,10,15,20.

Scholar/Priest: trade med. and heavy armor proficiencies for 2 skill points per level, 1 skill point + 1 metamagic feat, or 2 metamagic feats. Not allowed if one of your domains is war.

In an online campaign, I've also seen the following:

Dwarven Paladin: no mount, extra smite attacks every 3 levels.
