What classes would Xena and Gabrielle be in D&D?

I have always thought Xena was a Psychic Warrior 20. She did train under a powerful Psion in the east for a time.

Gabrielle would be a Commoner/ Bard.

Hercules would be a Aasimar Fighter with the ability to cast Bull's Strength at will and it stacks.

Iolaus would be a good canidate for Fighter/ Swordsage, since he did train in the east too.

Xena I would peg on being the cusp of an epic level character with some inherrant ability to ignore xp penalties for multiclassing.

Xena I would say Warblade 5/Psychic Warrior 5/Fighter 9

Gabby I would say Bard (Non-spellcasting varaint) 5/Monk 2 (only becasue she learend to use monk style weapons)

Herc, Monk 10/Reaping Mauler 5/Fighter 5 with Divine rank 0

Iolaus, Fighter 15, nothing fancy here

Joxer, all kidding aside I would peg as a commoner 1/warrior 1/Survivor 3 (you gotta admit he lived through stuff he shouldnt)

Jsut my 2 pence

Hercules and Xena both had Divine Rank 0 since each had a divine parent, Zeus and Ares respectively.

Uhh, I'm pretty sure Ares wasn't Xena's dad since he was always trying to get it on with her :) I've never heard about her being born from a god, but I am only at the end of season 2, so I have four more to go. I'd put my vote for Gabrielle as a bard with no magic abilities and Xena as a fighter with a whole bunch of feats and some multi-classing. My favorite side character besides Ares is Callisto and I'd call her more of a straight fighter until she gains her immortality and divinity.

Nah... Xena and co. are Iron Heroes all the way!

Xena: Harrier/Archer/Executioner
Gabrielle: Woman-at-Arms
Hercules: Man-at-Arms
Autolycus: Thief/Harrier

While the offspring of gods are generally divine rank 0 , I don't think that applies to half-mortals. A god and an outsider produces an abomination. A god and a mortal could have a variety of results, depending on the game world. Technically, half-celestial or half-fiend could apply. I created a Heroic template for a Greek-themed game a while back.

Joxer, to me, is a very good example of a Commoner. As time goes on, he actually gains a few levels, but he's still a commoner :)

Over the course of the series, both Xena and Gabrielle show a hodgepodge of abilities that are not easy to mimic with D&D rules. They have monk-like combat abilities, but also the tendency to get better when angry, which suggests barbarian rage. One can argue that they've got Bard abilities - using Perform (inspiring speeches) to improve morale and effectiveness in the show is common. But, neither of them do any straight-up spellcasting.

All in all, I think you want to use another system to model them.

Xena was using some very psionic-ish effects towards the end of the series.

It was brought up in later episodes. Ares pretended to be Xena's father while dad was at war (possibly already dead?). He went to Xena's mother and ...well ... you know.

Given that it's based on roman/greek mythology, it isn't too hard to see the gods going after their own kids. ;)
