What D&D Campaign should we play?

Whichever one the DM is enthusiastic about.

If the DM isn't particularly enthusiastic about any then probably Rime of the Frostmaiden, because that is the one that is already a single complete campaign they can just run, with Saltmarsh as the next least amount of work.

Of the options I'd be potentially most excited about hearing someone saying they wanted to put on a completely homebrew campaign in a homebrew setting setting, in theory, for the same reasons that presumably the majority of the people who had voted when I looked had voted for that. But what does that mean? If it is some labor of love setting a DM or the group has carefully designed then it's probably going to be lots of fun for them. If it is just a setting/campaign they threw together because they felt obligated to when the group asked for a homebrew campaign, there is a high chance that you'd be better off with something prepublished.

I always do home brew but never hesitate to take bits and pieces from official settings or adventures to save some prep time.

I've yet to see any campaign I wouldn't describe as "homebrew." The sheer proliferation of options and optional rules on D&D makes choosing some over others mandatory, and no two groups ever have the same experience.

Semantics aside, I really dug the Saltmarsh adventure myself. It's low key and creepy and immersive, easy to make very personal and claustrophobic, and that's always been my cup of tea. If that atmosphere appeals to you and your group, dive in (ha!) and have fun.

If you can talk your group into reading Bulfinch's Mythology during away-from-table time, then try a Theros minicampaign.

I'm going to suggest homebrew, but feel free to use any of the others. That's the beauty of homebrew, you can pull in any other sources you want.

Great DMs steal relentlessly and you can bring in whatever elements you want to re-flavor any of the others. Going into any of the others, players can have pre-conceived notions of what the settings are. If you go homebrew, you can always say, this is the Sword Coast, but different, because of ______.

I'm running and really enjoying Rime of the Frostmaiden right now, as are the players. I haven't run Theros, but the setting and new options are really darn cool and evocative.
