My first gaming group was exclusively Mountain Dew. (age 19-22)
My second gaming group I mixed it up with soda and water (age 22-24)
My third gaming group consisted of co-workers and beer was it (age 25-28)
My fourth group consisted of soda or beer (depending if at my house or not)
My fifth group I vary. Now as a diabetic I go easy on beer and drink water mainly but some diet soda ...

I drink Diet Mountain Dew most of the time, or Diet Sunkist if it can be found.

Occaisonally, I'll have a little rum toward the end of the session. I drink very rarely, and enjoy it in moderation with close friends (who are, obviously, gamers). But, most of the time, it's just soda.

Sam Adams, nectar of the gods.
- Several of my players would agree, and the nectar is highly prized. Yet there is also one player who insists on bringing Mickey's.

Eris404 - I've actually seen Mead at my local liquor store, and at the local grocery store's liquor dept. Then again, I'm in WI. While I don't brew beer myself, I know a few people who do, and I'm more than happy to share in their creations.

To answer the poll, just about everyone drinks beer during the game, but we are all friends from highschool and college. We're all in our 30s now, and we game 3 to 4 times a year for an entire Saturday. Several people come in from around the state, so it is a very social event. In fact, I'm preparing to run the next game in November.

It depends on the type of game I'm playing, or rather, the location. For most of the games I used to play, I had to drive to get there (and was underage, to boot), so alcohol was out of the question. Not only was it unaffordable, but hard to obtain, impossible to drink in front of other people's parents, and would have been tantamount to asking for a DUI.

For IRC games that I could play at home, or pretty much any game now that I'm at college, I'm partial to sipping on a Modelo Especial (with a wedge of lime) or a rum and coke. Having a fridge that basically consists of alcohol and microwave dinners is definitely the way to live :p (at least while I'm in college)

Coffee, water, or beer, depending on the time of day.

One of our players brews his own beer -- which we get to sample every so often!

My group usually has anything non-alcoholic. That said, beer and wine are allowed. The rule is simple--max 1 drink every 3 hours, no drinks within 2 hours of leaving. Works out well. Enough to be mellow, but not enough to cause the game to break down.
