Glad you liked it.

NOTE: I omitted one answer from the original posting, those who already read the interview, can just revisit and look for red text. It´s a short paragraph, which got lost in the editing.

Fortunately, you don't have to pay $50. It's just $5 for the basic "send a copy when it's done" membership.

It's VERY far from design by committee; it's a dictatorship with input. I'm writing the outlines and doing the adventure design. The input provides feedback on what people want. So far, though, most of the patrons have been pleased with the direction: there's not a ton of second-guessing.

The exclusivity is part of the fun. Only people who want it to succeed and enjoy watching it unfold are parting with money to make it happen. There are no trolls, no whiners, no random visitors. It's turning into a fairly coherent group.

This is a great idea! How can I follow suit as a writer? :)

I personally wish there was a way to order the adventures after he was done writing them. A lot of people (such as me) missed some of the earlier ones, and would like to order the completed product after the fact.

I was a patron of the 2nd project and now have invested as a patron of the third project. I asked him about being able to get the first adventure, and he took it to the patrons that participated in the original project. they decided that they didn't want to have it public because it would dilute the limited edition feel of the adventure.

I wish I had a copy too. :)

Step 1 would seem to be to become a 'big name', such that people are willing totake the risk of hiring you on this sort of basis.

As regards the project itself, I find it an interesting concept, but I'm generally reluctant to buy things without knowing what I'm getting into. That there won't be an opportunity to read reviews before I buy is somewhat off-putting... and that's where the name recognition of the author has to come into play.

I'm hoping one of the patrons will review the prior project (Shadowcrag). I may eventually be reviewed by ENWorld staff, but given the massive range of stuff they review, I wouldn't expect that any time soon.

Your overall point is right: I don't think this is a format for new writers. It's more an experiment I'm trying because I'm established in the field.
