What do you want to ask WotC?

Here are the things burning most in my mind:

Seeing as how I've never used an online-print service, could you give us a comparison to any other existing services now, for what an online magazine subscription really would be like?

Further, what kind of content could Wizards offer me that Dungeon and Dragon and Wizards' & 3rd party print products weren't offering? During the poll for "premium content" I was thinking of something OTHER than what was already in the channel, and what's been announced has seemed to be the same content repackaged in another format.

As of right now, WotC now has back in-house their electronic supplement licenses, and their Magazine licenses. What quarter, roughly, can we expect to see the first offerings?

I see your frustration and understand it but sit back and grab a Sam Adams. It's the only thing you can try to get that taste out of your mouth.

I haven't even compiled a list of questions yet, let alone sent it along. I'll be doing that later today/this evening; I don't know how long it will take them to return the replies, but I'll try to get a rough ETA.

Thanks.
Oh, and keep a stiff upper lip through all this.

will there be regular eberron content, including adventures?

Will there be adventure paths available?

Will there be a preview?

What will it cost?

will it require a credit card? If not, how can I pay?

1. How will you replace the content of Dungeon magazine that I have lost?
Each month, Dungeon provided me 3 quality adventures for less than $5. Not only has Dungeon given me a library of adventures to pull from to find something that fills a hole in whatever campaign I am running, the monthly magazine gave me adventures to read which have taught me how to make better adventures.

2. How are you going to make my job as a DM easier?
At D&D XP, I came away with the belief that WotC was concerned with the difficulty in attracting and retaining DMs. The canceling of Dungeon canceled my belief leaving me thinking WotC only wants my money and could care less about DMs otherwise. Running a campaign is not only difficult and time consuming, it costs much more money than playing. Not only do I have to buy adventures, I have to buy a copy of any book my players are using (I allow almost every WotC book figuring if a player is willing to spend the money at my FLGS, they should be encouraged to do so). Dungeon was a great, cost-effective tool for DMs.

These are really good questions that I would like answered also.

Hmm... not having read the thread yet, I'll probably be repeating questions already asked. However, it seems to me that we don't really know enough to ask really intelligent questions, so some basics have to be covered first.

1) What kind of content will this be? Comparing it to the content of Dungeon and Dragon magazines, will we see a similar mix of offerings, i.e., adventures, "Ecology of" articles, new monsters, spells, Class Acts, Sage Advice, etc.? Or some other product mix?

2) How will the subscription work? Do you pay a monthly fee to get access to all the content, for example? Can you buy articles a la carte? Or some other scheme?

3) How will this content differ from the content that you already offer for free on your website? Will some of the free content disappear, or while this be simply a much more robust offering?

4) How much will it cost?

5) Who will be writing the content? Will submission guidelines like what Dungeon and Dragon had be made available? Will it work in the same way, more or less?

Morrus,

Thanks for doing this. I noticed you clearly said "no soapboxing, questions only". I can't help but notice a few folks seem to have interpreted that as meaning "blatant soapboxing is OK, as long as you couch it as a question". Case in point:

Most of my other questions have already been asked by others, but one big one remains:

Would WotC like to apologize for the sorrow and outrage their announcement and subsequent handling of the backlash has caused?

I'm dead serious--this question has a 0% snark factor. Even their talk about being afraid of being ripped to shreds on these boards intimates that the fans--not WotC--are responsible for all the craziness of the last few days.

I'm not expecting them to reverse their decision (although I'd love to see that); they seem to truly believe that their digital initiative will rock, and perhaps it will. I expect them to stick to their guns and follow through on the path they've chosen.

What I DO want, however, is for them to 'fess up and admit that the way in which they mishandled this fiasco was horrendous. Anything less will leave a sour taste in my mouth.

This is not in keeping with the spirit of the "no soapboxing" imperative--in fact it seems like coy disregard for it--and I would beg you to put your foot down on the matter; these are not the kinds of games I enjoy seeing people play.

OK, you're right--I definitely slipped into soapboxing at the end of my post. I'm sorry; I apologize.

I was originally going to say that my question still stands, since I was merely asking if WotC would like to offer some sort of apology for they way they handled this affair, not demanding one. But you know what--they're big boys. I'm sure that if they feel that they have something to apologize for they'll do it when they answer the other questions.

Consider my question retracted. I imagine I'll get my answer one way or the other when we next hear from Wizards.

Oh man, how could I forget one other important series of Dragon Magazine articles that I love?

---Will Creature Catalog continue in DI?

oh and

---Will there be Forgotten Realms/Eberron content in it?

There.
