What do you want to see in the fourth Adventure Path?

Since it's never to early to look ahead, and since AP4 is probably already in development, I thought I'd mention some of the things I'd like to see in the next campaign from Paizo.

Regarding the BBEG, twice now we've had it be a demon lord, and one other time it was an evil demigod. Hopefully AP4 will have a different "final boss" villain. Perhaps a devil lord? Killing Asmodeus would overshadow even Demogorgon! Alternately, perhaps it should be one of the Princes of Elemental Evil (though that may be too RttToEE-ish).

Also, Paizo, don't be afraid to have the next Adventure Path stray into the epic-level realm! It's not inconceivable that the PCs should have to be above 20th-level when killing such incredibly powerful bad guys. It'd also free you from the standard "spend a few adventures figuring out how to weaken him so we can take him out at 20th-level" theme. I'm not saying it'd have to go all the way to 30th-level (though that'd be cool), but there's no reason not to go into the low-20's. The ELH material is all in the SRD now, after all.

What else would people like to see next time around?

A 1-12 AP that features either the clash of nations (a plot against the kingdom by -- apparently -- rivals from a neighboring kingdom), an old-school Underdark crawl, yuan-ti focused jungle adventure or an urban saga fighting against sinister thieves and assassins.

Hm. I think one involving a massive war (a la lord of the rings) would be cool, but at the same time, an AP different than, say, Red Hand of Doom. An adventure where the BBEG was a dragon wouldbe pretty cool, too. Finally, I think something involving Frostburn would be cool - what can I say? I like the arctic north.

Agreed. Let's not have the next one go to level 20.

Wow, I'm surprised by this response. I love the fact that they go from 1st to 20th.

But who knows? 4th edition may not have the same 1st to 20th structure.

Actually, I really like that they go all the way up - it gives me a chance to use the third of the spells in my PHB that otherwise would never be touched.

As for the BBEG, I think I would quite like to not have a single entity, but perhaps a conspiracy of as many as four 'lesser' powers. And, perhaps, avoid the 'planar' foes this time. Maybe a drow/illithid/deep dragon triad?

One theme and running with it is the way to go.

Horror theme. A ravenloft adventure path culminating in a major darklord BBEG would rock. Undead, lycanthropes, out of control constructs, dark fey, witches, evil Cthulhu like cultists, poisoners, murderers, magical mad scientist types, vistani gypsies, villains, dark fortunes, and curses.

Cold climate with white dragons, remorhaz, Frostburn stuff, and ending with Cryonax.

An underdark/drow themed one, with an aspect of Lolth showing up in one of the low level ones and Lolth not being the BBEG. Spider Queen might have drow covered for the 3e mega-adventure niche though but this could have lots with other underdark bad guys (duergar, beholders, mind flayers).

Dragons/Dragons/Dragons. Have actual dragons be the theme/focus and ultimate BBEG. Again though this might be a little overlap with Red Hand of Doom.

Orcs, Orcs, Orcs. An adventure path where favored enemy orcs is huge would be great.

Ptolus. It doesn't come with its own 1-20 adventure so Paizo could do something great that can be used with or without the Ptolus book. City stuff, politics, church manipulations, big dungeons under the city. For WotC reference swap in Waterdeep with undermountain.

Fey theme. Dark sidhe = evil humanoids, ogres and trolls, plants, fey, elementals, magical beasts, witches. Not silly fey but medieval high fantasy feel.
