What Do Your Players Think of Splatbooks?

I don't know. It might've worked. :)

Honestly, I haven't come across this issue IRL, myself. But I've had other issues with certain players, so I kind of get your frustration and uncertainty as to exactly what you should do.

Are there particular things that these players are derisive about? Or is it more of a general stance?

I think they are overpowered and uber. I also enjoy the variety they offer. So I guess I'd have to say my feelings about them are mixed.

There's a couple that have a rep among us, like the book of exalted cheese. And the Gouda (spell) Compendium. In general though we are pretty cool with splat books.

My players *love* overpowered and über things :p

I don't get any hate of any supplements from my players, nothing I can remember at least. They use them all the time (I own a lot of those books, I'm the host, and they're standing on the shelf behind me, so access is no problem).

I'd generally allow more or less anything (though I always reserve the right to ban things)

My DM loves splatbooks. I love splatbooks. We both agree tha they are sometimes over powered but that for the vast majority of the time they are fine. When a new splatbook is released it get mind for ideas and options.

How do you define splatbooks?

I consider them as non-WotC books and in that context we don't use them.

All of the WotC books may be in a campaign depending on the views of the DM. I have no problem with the Complete series, Spell Compendium, and most others but they require approval from the DM before a player takes an unusual option.

My players don't care about splatbooks. Heck, my players don't all have their own PHBs. Rules-mongers, they ain't :)

A couple of players continually mock them though, saying how that they are overpowered and uber, despite having only read the spells, feats, etc.

A lot of them are, virtually everyone in our group agrees (but then everyone in our group DM's occasionally at least), we've never allowed a whole book without house-ruling out some stuff from it. I'm a little more liberal than most of my group but stuff like the Abjurant Champion is just daft, an Elven Wizard gives up one bonus feat and his familiar advancement for d10 hit dice, fighter BAB, and a load of special abilities, and is there any reason not to take Master Specialist?

Same here. There's one or two who have some books, but it's mostly the PHB. Only one of the regulars other than me has several books (mostly the core books I think).
