what does a CLW potion taste like in your world?

I've always imagined CLW potions in my world looking like selzer water and tasting faintly of mountain berries. I know, not very original, but since it's CLW I figure it's gotta be a mildly pleasant experience drinking it.

Heh. I don't think you're supposed to drink bactine! :)

That reminds me of the joke about the woman that was given Preperation H to cure her hemerrhoids and she later tells the doctor that she still has them, and that the stuff he told her take tasted horrible!

No, no... You gotta make them taste BAD, to discourage those stupid meat shields from losing so many hit points.

Almonds...

It seems like, in a lot of groups I was in, cure light wounds potions (your basic, run-of-the-mill low-level healing potion) are blue, and have a taste not unlike almonds.

I'm amazed nobody's noticed this yet...

An experienced character learns to identify potions by memory—for example, the last time she tasted a liquid that reminded her of almonds, it turned out to be a potion of cure moderate wounds.

There you go. Although I do note that cyanide (which, as has been noted, also tastes like almonds) is so named for a reason. (Yes, yes, I know the more toxic ones are colorless or white, but still.)

Personally, I usually picture healing potions (of the C*W set, anyway) as being clear, about the consistency of shampoo, and tasteless.

Cure Potions IMC are green. The darker the green, the more potent (or less dilluted) the potion, so a potion of CCW is nearly black.

Woah. That's what I do. Except mine taste BAD. Medicine in the real world, to slowly help against a moderate disease can taste bad. A potion of CLW can completely restore you from a longsword gash in seconds. It's not going to taste good. And, of course, there are unidentifiable bits of gristle and dust-like particles which make you gag. But hey, you're healed, so maybe it was worth it.
