What does he have in its Pocketsss?

Evilhalfling

Adventurer
So in the running for my wierdest adventure ideas ever-

The party sorcerer discovers that the pockets of his robe have become an extradiminsional space. The party then gets sucked into them. The eventual goal is for him to end up with his robe fuction as either 1) Robe of useful items b)bag of holding c) hewards havernsack.
Depending on what actions the party takes -

I was thinking of struggles vs the things found in a robe of useful items; An animated rope, large advanced War Dogs, a Zaga-Ya(postive) trapped in a box (hooded lantern) animated greatsword (dagger) etc. If they kill them all then it cant be a RUI if they leave enough intact then it is and RUI

what I need help with:

How do they get in?
How do they effect the robe becoming b or c
how do I describe the inside of a pocket?

there is a need for this because he group is headed for a climaxtic battle - and I want everyone there. The group (of 5) is intermittant and this would be a distracting sidequest that would either last 2 hours( 2 players are are freqently late due to their jobs) or the whole session - If 2 other players dont show up. The sorcerer is always there.

That's an awesome idea!

To try to provide some suggestions for your questions:

1) Maybe they get forcibly dragged into it, with the extraplanar space creating a vortex.

2) Since there's a definite size gradient on those three items, maybe how much damage they cause the extraplanar space (missed attacks, fireballs, etc.) could influence it. Say, every third of it's hit points taken away reduces the eventual size of the item

3) As far as what the pocket dimension looks like, maybe looking at microscopic views of cloth might help create a suitably weird appearance.
