What enchantment should I get for a whip

Sorry, with a Whip in particular, the only answer is "it depends"
If you are using the Whip solely to Trip/Disarm/other with, then I would start sucking up to the DM and get Disarming and Sweeping from Magic of Faerun. If on the other hand you are a Lasher or some other type who is doing actually damage with your whip, then I must vote for /Flaming/Shocking/Frost as a must first enchantment.

Acidic. Imagine the visual when you draw your whip and snap it causing little bits of acid to fling on the walls and slowly burning the stone or wood there. Personally, I have acidic Burst on mine. And make sure you get a whip dagger, much better with those levels of Lasher.

Nothin' says lovin' like a Brilliant Energy whip. 15' through a wall. Sure it's a 50% miss chance, but they basically have 0% to hit back. Sure, you'll want a backup weapon for constructs and undead, but otherwise this combo is devastating.

Unless you're just going for flavor, then pick something else.

I had a fighter monk that specialized in whips. His name was E'Desad, my DM had me find a whip dagger that was a burst of sorts. at the tail end of the whip crack a cloud of blades doing an extra D6 of damage.

It has a cool visual

A 15 foot piece of leather with a dagger on the end snaps out and just as it hits the dagger flares silver and now there are 5 or so more tiny daggers follwing with the whip dagger.

Don't use a whip. Use a +4 mighty barbed whip. Those are nasty. Slap on vorpal or brilliant energy (though I wouldn't use the vorpal in the DMG, so if you oject to house rules, go with brilliant energy) and go to town!

I can see your character with the vorpal whip and striking it across the neck of you enemy. Blood flies for 10 feet in all directions.

But what is your Aliment, Class, and Race?

Isn't a regular whip equally good for a Lasher?

I was under the impression, that the PrC grants the same benefits just with a regular whip.

Elf, rogue(Mindbender??Bondblade) I might Dual weild it with a raipier...or not. I also fancy being able to defen people (Like Cracking it in the air?)
