Star Frontiers & Knight Hawks rock.

With the release of D20 Future, I was going to bring back my Star Frontiers campaign, d20 edition.

Then one night, when we had some friends over and wanted to play a quick game, I decided not to bother with the conversion, and we pulled out my two boxed sets, and my extra two rule books, and started running the game within 20 minutes of photocopying the character sheets.

Bureau 13: anyone even remember it? I used to love playing it all the time!

Top Secret: We had a GM who read all the old Mac Bolan books. Man was he good at putting us into the game!
My friend ran a GREAT Bureau 13 game. That system was just so quirky and original. I can't really defend the system per se, but MAN did it have a unique feel. Very very cool.

I'm another who misses Marvel Super Heroes. I never actually got to play a character, but I ran a MSH campaign for years. It was a hoot.

I miss RuneQuest. It was the first RPG I played. Great feel to the Glorantha setting, and I like the combat rules.

I miss the guy who used to GM for us, too. He moved out to the 'burbs, went back to school and dropped out of sight. :(

Man, so many games to remember.

Rifts
Shadowrun
DC Heroes
Marvel Super Heroes
Champions
Original Warhammer Fantasy
D6 Star Wars
Star Trek (Fasa)
Paranoia
Star Frontiers
Boot Hill

There are more but I'll look like too big of a nerd if I list them all. But out of all of them I would have to say Basic D&D. That was the game that first opened my eyes to role playing. I guess you never forget your first love.

Robotech (really, just cause it was Robotech.)

I didn't put this down mostly because the system was so annoying. I love the universe and I'd love to play a Robotech campaign, but I'd need to find something better than the old Palladium system (although I love my books and am looking to finish off my collection :p ). I'm not sure a d20 style is the answer either, although I could probably make Battletech work...

Agreed. And that's why I didn't list it either. I love Robotech. But the system... ergh...

For playing Robotech in the mecha sense, we used the tabletop game "MECHA" which rocks. In fact, I dare say it remains my all time fave mech game. But for roleplaying it, I dunno what I would do.
