What happened to the Sci Fi news page?

I've been kind of between moves at the moment(leaving to Britain to live this Saturday) so hunting news is a bit...tough. I'm going to do my best to get off my butt and do some newshounding when I'm all settled down and such.

There was a while (maybe 2 months back) that I tried to send in updates at least a few times a week. But many of them had already been covered (unknown to me because they had not been posted yet) or my submissions took a few days to make to the site.

But besides all that I did visit the page every day and would like to see it continued. :) I would contribute when I could as well.

You're moving over here? Whereabouts? Let me know when you're here; if you're not too far away, we may be able to hook up.

For everyone else -- I've made the sci-fi news a sidebar on the main news page for now. There's a link there for submitting new articles; I've also removed the moderation limitation to it, so when you post a new article it will appear immediately. We'll see how that goes for now.

North Wales(yeah, a bit out of the way of the universe), up around Anglesey. Once I get in on Sunday(ugh, long flight) I'll be meeting my girlfriend, who's from Wales and was here visiting the last two months...she had to leave before me because of passport problems, and staying in London for a few days. Then off to middle of no where. Shall be an adventure.

...whereabouts be you? I know I should remember this because I saw it all the time before you changed the "Location" part under your avatar...

Southampton - middle of the South Coast, just above the Ise of Wight. Quite a way from you! If you ever get the time, you're welcome to invite yourself down for a weekend or so (everyone else does!) :)

I'm a little late to the discussion, and really have not been around much at all for a few months, even after really intending on starting submit scoops again. I'm sorry to see it go, but realize fully that a good portion of why it is gone is because I was kind of a putz and did not contribute nearly as much as I should have. I think this was in part the series of changes that occurred while I was incommunicado from moves, life changes and general weirdness, and partially that I had the bad luck of coming to post whenever the site would go down. Really bad timing on my part. So I gave up for a while, more because of my personal issues than anything here. At the moment I am out of work, and while that should give me plenty of time to do things like this, I find that I spend a lot of time doing absolutely nothing.

I originally wanted to get involved in the sci-fi news page because I have a big interest in the genre and love to discuss it, but mostly because I wanted to contribute to the site in some meaningful way. Would a review column for sci-fi video and theatrical releases me approriate? This is not something I'm volunteering to do alone, as my track record is not all that great, but maybe an additional section to the features that remain and are coming.
