What happens to previous edition material on store shelves?

Well, I know there are sales on some stuff on EBay....brand new, but I guess they're trying to clear out stock, and at least earn *something* for it.

I have a few books I'd like to get....probably Green Ronin's Thieves World books, and the Monsternomicon Volume 2...that's about it. Beyond that, I really can't think of anything else I'd want.

I still see a lot of 3E materials sitting on the shelves in local stores, including Chapters.

Around here, it seems like they go to live in a nearby Half-Priced Books, until they are adopted into a loving and caring family with a completist looking to fill his bookshelves.

Hope That Helps,

That's my vote... and hope... :)

The Borders near me has some 3.0 splatbooks (Defenders of the Faith and the like) that have been sitting on the shelves for years.

The one on State Street in Chicago still had a Book of Erotic Fantasy on the shelves last I looked.

Game stores should be cutting the prices and tryign to move those suckers out as quick as they can, but if experience is any guide, those books will stay on FLGS shelves until 6th edition hits.

Hell, I was at a comic book convention last weekened, and some dude was already selling his 3e books for half price. (I didn't grab any, but I did pick up the Fist of the North Star movie on VHS for a quarter. Cons are awesome.)

Yeah, I've seen that! Multiple copies, I think. I'm gonna believe that they've all been there for years, because I really don't wanna think anyone's been buying it.
