What If...? Marvel Universe (M&M 2E)

Looking at all those vikings, Sam can't help but be glad he's not in this mess alone, though he has no ideas of who the green giant, the armored lady, the guy in the flying car and the floating boy are. Basically only the burly man with the hammer is still a threat. Well, he's there to lend a hand.
"I've heard flying ships can be slippery, let's see if you have sky legs."
The Falcon towards the ship's stem, in a trajectory that would lead him to impact against the red-headed viking. Instead of slamming into him though, he swerves and sweeps his legs, then he reaches the bow and turns to see what will his "allies" do.

OOC:[sblock]The Falcon tries to overrun Thor, moving from stern to stem.

EDIT: Invisible castle is now up. I have +12 attack and something on the lines of +10 on the Trip check (+4 STR, +4 Improved Overrun, +2 from Speed ranks used) which largely exceed the +7 cap I have. So attack at +12, if I hit, thank to the Improved Throw feat, I get to choose if Thor rolls on Strength or Dexterity, and something tells me not to choose Strength. ;) So Dexterity test for Mr. Thor.

Round 2 - Versus the Vikings!

In a blur of crimson and flame, the Falcon races across the over-sized dragonship and slides into Thor's legs near the ankles. It's not too dissimiliar from slamming into a metal pole, but the move has its desired effects. The towering foe tumbles to the deck, landing heavily on his side. The Falcon comes to a halt near the ship's bow.

Agent Gamma grits his teeth against his injuries and growls as he rises back to his feet, getting ready to bring the attack back to Thor. (OOC: Standing is a move action.)

------

OOC: Initiative: Falcon (38), Agent Gamma (24), Redline (18), Thor (15), Valkyries (14), Mind-Twist (7), Stronghold (6).

Injuries: The Viking crew is effectively out of the fight. Only one Valkyrie remains engaged. Thor is uninjured and prone. Agent Gamma is staggered.

Next Up: Redline!

The THInG banked around back towards the ship and zoomed right towards it at blazing speed. "Alright Benjy ole boy. Ya dazzled 'em with yer Flyin' Ace skills. Now it's time to show 'em some military sharpshootin' skills." He angled the flying car in between the ships rigging. As he rocketed by he grabbed a strange looking rifle from the passenger seat and aimed it out the window. "Too bad Reed couldn't be here to see his gizmo work!" He pulled the trigger and plasma energy blazed from the barrel.

OOC: Shoot the mast of the ship towards its base. I would like to angle it so it falls on Thor. I will spend an HP to accomplish this. (Something like the Indirect Power Feat Maybe?)

Round 2 - Versus the Vikings!

The single, central mast cracks several feet above its base, creaks ominously as it begins to lean, and then crashes down on top of Thor. The Viking leader disappears beneath the wood and canopy of the sail.

But only for an instant. Then, as thunder roars and lightning provides hellish illumination to the scene, Thor tears through the canopy. He grabs the mast, his hammer hung around his wrist by its thong, and hefts the huge piece of lumber from the deck.

"First you, woman! Then yon flying gnat!"

Using the mast a giant club, he smashes it down toward Strongold. Fortunately, the armored woman is agile enough to leap out of harm's way. The aft railing shatters under the impact.

Overhead, the sky is alive with Valkyries. One is particularly intent on Mind-Twist, guiding her winged steed in a tight loop back toward the flying hero. Again, however, Mind-Twist is too canny a foe to be tagged by the warrior-woman's lancing spear.

Thor is uninjured. Agent Gamma is staggered.

Setback Notice: A hero point for the Falcon and Redline. I GM fiated Instant Stand to get Thor back on his feet and out of the sail in plenty of time to attack this round.

Next Up: Mind-Twist, Stronghold, Falcon, Agent Gamma, and Redline!

Stupid Oaf...I wanted you to charge up my power shield with your lightning bolt. Better do this the hard way.

Stronghold closes with the big norse-man and starts trying to punch him out.

"You know, I always wanted to attract girls, but that's never what I meant." says Mind-Twist to the Valkyrie. "You want that big viking, he is more your type."

[SBLOCK=OOC]Mind Control on the Valkyrie so she attack Thor.[/SBLOCK]

The Falcon notices the large hammer hanging from the vikIng's wrist and wonders if he could take this powerful weapon away from his enemy. He rushes towards him as he did before, and releases a staggering amount of blows on the warrior's arm, his own arms like a blow as he tries to take him by surprise and grab the hammer. Then, after having hopefully succeeded, he retreats to the ship's stern.

OOC:[sblock]The Falcon speeds to Thor, makes an autofire disarm attempt, and whether successful or not, runs to the stern. If Thor's hammer is a hard to lose device my attempt will fail spectacularly, but Falcon doesn't know it, and it doesn't hurt to try (at least I hope :)).
Improved Disarm gives me a +2 on the attack roll, but one goes over the cap, so I trade a point of damage for it with Power Attack (Damage is now 5).
Autofire means that by every two points my attack beats Thor's defense I get a +1 to damage, up to +3.
Finally, Thor rolls his STR bonus against me rolling my resulting damage. (Since I don't know Thor's defense, I'll roll the base damage. You'll have to add the eventual autofire bonus to it.)
If I win I should have the hammer in my hands. If I lose, it's been fun to know you, since I guess Thor will be quite pissed at me. :D

The Falcon tries to disarm Thor. Attack roll and opposed damage roll. (1d20+13=18, 1d20+5=13)

(ok, I guess that'll teach me not to hoard Hero points.)[/sblock]

Round 3 - Versus the Vikings!

Hovering in flight near the dangerously listing dragonship, Mind-Twist still faces the Valkyrie.

"You know, I always wanted to attract girls, but that's never what I meant." says Mind-Twist to the Valkyrie. "You want that big Viking, he is more your type."

The Valkyrie reins her flying steed to a seemingly impossible mid-air halt, a surprised look on her face. "Aye! Ye're correct, mortal! Why ought I follow that puppets commands?"

[sblock]Mind Control check versus Will save: 18 versus 13. Success![/sblock]

Back on deck, Stronghold takes aggressive action.

Stupid Oaf...I wanted you to charge up my power shield with your lightning bolt. Better do this the hard way. Stronghold closes with the big Norse-man and starts trying to punch him out.

Stronghold's power-armored fist arcs in fast and tags Thor right on the point of his bearded chin. The awesome power of the punch lifts Thor off the deck and sends him flying through the window of the nearby office building. Shards of safety glass are whipped through the air by the stormy winds. Thor slides across the floor on his back, slamming head first into a desk.

[sblock]Stronghold hit with a 28 attack roll. The DC 25 Toughness save ought to have been child's play for Thor, but he botched it anyway.[/sblock]

The Falcon notices the large hammer hanging from the Viking's wrist and wonders if he could take this powerful weapon away from his enemy. He rushes towards Thor, leaping from the ship into the building, ready to unleash a volley of attacks aimed at stealing away the hammer. The Falcon grabs the hammer with one hand and mercilessly buffets the prone Thor's arm, shoulder, and head with dozens of punches and kicks and karate chops, but he cannot get the hammer away from the Viking. For safety's sake, the Falcon rushes back out of the office building and to the ship's stern.

[sblock]Falcon's attack roll of 18 was enough to beat Thor's Defense since he was stunned and prone, but the damage wasn't enough to beat his amazing Strength. BTW, don't worry about Improved Disarm busting attack caps. Unless the feat specifically says it is limited by campaign's power level, assume it isn't. I prefer to allow such feats to exceed PL caps by up to +5.[/sblock]

OOC: Initiative: Falcon (38), Agent Gamma (24), Redline (18), Thor (15), Valkyries (14), Mind-Twist (7), Stronghold (6).

Injuries: The Viking crew is effectively out of the fight. Only one Valkyrie remains engaged, but she is Mind Controlled. Thor is bruised, stunned, and prone. Agent Gamma is staggered.

Next Up: Agent Gamma and Redline! Also, on Thor's initiative, the out-of-control dragonship is going to hit the building. Anyone on deck needs to give me a Acrobatics/Balancing check against DC 20. Fail by 5 or more, you fall. Anyone with fewer than 5 ranks in Acrobatics loses dodge bonus to Defense.

"Damn! I think I messed up that Longship a little too good. Alright think Mister Hotshot Pilot, think! Before it levels all this prime real estate and you get evicted by your neighbors! Waitaminute..It's crazy but its worth a shot!" Redline veers the THInG up next to the out of control Flying Boat and matches speed. Then, just like a tug boat he sidles up next to it side to side and tries to steer it away from buildings. The THInG's turbo powered hover-engines complain loadly at the sheer mass it was trying to push. "C'mon baby..Do it fer Uncle Benjy!" he coaxed as he got every little bit out the vehicle...and more!

OOC: Boost Vehicle's Strength to 52, try to veer it away from damaging anything or anyone when it crashes.
