what if the kobolds won?

What would happen if the kobolds succeeded in eliminating all other sentient life? Would the kobolds fall to fighting each other, or would they start some court intrigue to curry favour with their ruler, or would they actually settle down and become peaceful? Maybe even nice?

Kobolds are lawful evil, last I heard. They'd probably set up some sort magocracy (or dracocracy, depending on who the boss is), and there'd be perpetual scheming and squabbling as as they all tried to ascend the ranks. How much veneration the ruler would get would greatly dependant on just how much more powerful than the underlings said ruler is.

Given that the devils essentially rule Hell, and it hasn't stopped them from being a bunch of back-stabbing SOBs, I'd expect Kobold World to be much the same, especially at the farther ends of the empire, away from whoever the titular boss was.

But seriously, since the little monsters are lawful evil they would obey the strongest leader. Until that leader showed some weakness and their detractors began plotting against them.

It could be a very rigid structure with a defined overall ruler that is the most powerful of all the "bosses" and the underlings constantly jockeying for position. Much like the political structure of the nine hells.

So you would have the kobold tribes/clans/families all following the strongest or at least the perceived strongest person. That person would of course bow to the next strongest and so on until you get to the top of the chain. That creature would have his/her own agenda and with the usual intrigues going on around them. Everyone under them would do what the "boss" wanted but would be looking for a way to gain an advantage from every situation. The underlings would be looking for some weakness from their superiors to exploit as well.
