What If.....

...Lucas decided to allow Starwars Episode 7, 8 and 9. Would you want Peter JAckson to direct it?

... New Line allowed Peter Jackson to do The Hobbit. Do you think it would be as epic as LOTR?

IMO Lucas is now too much of a control freak to let someone else direct anymore. Even though the best movie of the series, IMO TESB, was not directed by him.
If PJ gets to do the hobbit, I think it will be about a 3 hour movie like the others were, but I don't know if they would do an extended edtion DVD. Not sure what they could leave out to put into an EE.

No, because the Emperor was originally planned to be defeated in Episode IX, but Lucas was getting burned out on SW and moved the final battle up to Return of the Jedi so they could end it. So there's no story left to tell after Episode VI.

Now if you were asking if I'd want PJ to direct a remake of Episodes I and II that answer would be "sure they could only be better" though in all honesty I really don't even care anymore.

I could have sworn I heard that the Hobbit was being done, by who don't know, But it would only seem right if PJ did it.

And as for episode 7,8,9 I would be scared of what PJ could do with those.

where did you hear that?

And of COURSE there is more story to tell.. o.0.
*points at EU/NJO published by Lucas Publishing thats considered "cannon"*

Those books aren't considered canon, at all. Only the movies and their novels are considered canon. It's on the official site. There was a fairly big debate on these forums about it a while back. I'm too lazy to do a search right now.

I would love to see 7-9 done. Even if Lucas directed them. I'm not a fan of his directing style but I like all the Star Wars flicks. And for the Hobbit: Bring it on.

I'd have the artists at WETA Workshop handle the practical effects (props, sets, costumes, prostetics, etc). These people are amazing---true craftsmen.

ILM should still do the CGI (no offense, WETA, but if I see one more horde of MASSIVE™ sprites doing the Zerg rush, I'll puke).

I wouldn't let Peter Jackson within a hundred miles of the project. Too much indecisiveness, too much tinkering (take a look at the excessive digital grading in LotR)

In any event, it's the screenwriter who should get most of the scrutiny.
