What is a 'slam' attack??

What are the mechanics of a slam attack? What would it look like if I saw one?

Heres why I ask..

I am converting the old Ravenloft i6 module and there is a monster called Strahd Zombie.

"Strahd zombies are a form of undead that serve the vampire Strahd von Zarovich......

......Their grey green flesh looks soft and their bones brittle. Any single hit of 5 points or more severs parts of their bodies.....

....The life force is great, the limbs continue to attack....."

How would one contiue with a slam attack without a leg or an arm?

Help, i'm stuck.
