What is Nephilium (sp)?

First, let me just say that that is the _coolest module ever_ for Cthulhu flavor in DnD... I ran it last year and it was a blast.

Nephelium is functionally just like iron except for its tranlucency. As far as I know it's only ever been mentioned in Firestorm Peak.

By the way, if you need one there's a good conversion of the neh-thalggu on the Mystara website (under Brain Collector.)

I like the module, its organization is rather poor though. Too much important DM information is buried in the text, such as what nephelium is.

I have repopulated the module with creatures from Chthulu d20 and changed the backstory somewhat. The PCs in my Dark Sun campaign had drawn from a Deck of Many things. Several PCs had drawn the Void card and had their minds imprisoned. They determined later that a Brain Collector had taken their brains after the Deck removed them. They had to follow the string of brainless victims across Athas until they determined the Collector had entered the firestorm peak complex. The PCs' first foray into the complex resulted in them being attacked by Colours out of Space, Shans and Mi-Go with lightning guns.

As of the end of the last game, the PCs has set up a temorary fortification outside of the complex manned by dwarven soldiers and psions to keep the Far Realm entites out.


BTW, thanks to everyone who posted with the nephelium answer. Now I know what to tell the PCs who have asked about the stuff.
