What is RSE?

I really can't find its origin, and its popping up everywhere. I guess it means "Reset" something, but I could be wrong.

So what does it mean?

Realms Shaking Event

it took me a little bit, but it means 'Realms Shaking Event' like the 'Time of Troubles' in specific reference to the Forgotten Realms CS. Events that fundamentally and permanently the Realms gaming world.

It's "Realms-Shaking Event" or "Realms-Shattering Event" depending on who's talking. I think the acronym came about because there have been a lot of major, sometimes world-changing (or nearly so) events in Forgotten Realms novels (and to a lesser extent RPG products) recently. With what we know of the plans for the 4e Realms, it seems all the RSEs are culminating in essentially a reset or even re-imagining of the setting.

What other RSEs have there been since the Time of Troubles?

I have been out of the FR loop for quite a while but:

As mentioned before: The Time of Troubles (which took place between 1rst to 2nd Editions)

Perhaps the historical fall of Netheril would be one with thanks from (the Arch-wizard Karsus)
Perhaps the historical fall of Myth Drannor would be another one.

How about a smaller scale - Shandril Shaseir's destruction of Zhentil Keep (that is considered cannon right)?

That is all that I can think of. There will hopefully be someone else who is really up on Realms lore who could give you a more definitely answer. Once Eberron came out I forgot all about FR.
