What is the buzz on Blue Rose?

I want both Blue Rose and Black Company for the additional game mechanics they both bring to the game, but eventually use them for my own homebrew world.

Crothain, I'll play your game at GenCon too. But if Teflon Billy is going to play a talking bunny, then I am going to play a talking cat. Can you guess what her name will be?

Heh - I would go with Pirate Cate, just because. ;)

As for Blue Rose, I am looking forward to checking it out. I'm not entirely sure I want the setting, but the mechanics will be interesting to review and possibly integrate with my homebrew.

I did some of the writing on the Blue Rose Companion so of course I've gotten to read the core BR book. I think everyone is going to like it, though I obviously can't say anything about it until the game comes out. Steve Kenson is, once again, a brilliant manipulator of the d20 system and I think he's done a lot to make the mechanics match the setting. I was honestly quite cautious when I first heard about the book, for similar but not the same reasons as Teflon Billy, but after having read it I can say it will remind you of a lot of contemporary fantasy books, not just the so-called "Romantic Fantasy" of Mercedes Lackey and her ilk.
