what is the deadliest Ice/Snow monster

Literally deadliest? Probably the Xixecal (ELH) with its CR 36. Your average walking glacier

If you are looking for a beast that can slay most anything in the snow and still be believable as part of a back story (meaning that you killed or escaped it), this is probably what you're looking for. It's also extremely ugly, otherwise you might want to persue the above suggestions.

Well, white dragons leap immediately to mind as an arctic apex predator. I guess it depends on what sort of big beastie you're looking for. Frost Worms are CR 12 I believe, rehmorazes (I'll leave the correct spelling and plural of that to others) are about that, then there's winter wolves (who are only around a CR 4 but I think that number's soft... I've had a lot of bad luck with winter wolves). In the giant range there are Frost Giants and Ice Trolls.

Shivhads. Huge, intelligent spider-things that live on glaciers and can locate anything on their glacier. Very nasty. They're free somewhere on the WotC site (I think it was the Far Corners of the Earth retired article) and in Frostburn.
