I am wracking my brain (and boy does that make a mess).
I recall an adventure from way back in the 1st edition days of my youth. In one early scene, the party is talking to the local ruler in the great room of the manor/castle. Part of the description is how there are clerics in the background chanting to their god for protection, guidance, and such. As the scene is drawing to a close, the PCs hear one of the clerics' chant take a decidedly evil turn just before the flame strike zaps the ruler.
