Greetings to All,
My friends and I have recently re-discovered the joy that is Xcrawl. And in preperation I swung over to pandahead.com for some stuff. And other than a NYC crawl there site hasn't been updated in for ever except the icon for Xworld. I was wondering if anyone knew there offical status, defunt, reorganizing or what. I know they released about 3 or so suppliment books for Xcrawl then 3.5 hit and they havent been heard from since. Thanks in and advance to anyone with some info. And if this is in the wrong section please do as necessary.

IIRC, their message boards have hit on these issues (didn't feel like wading through them this morning). I know they said they're planning on releasing the core Xcrawl book for 3.5, with all the errata they've received from the 3.0 release. Not sure about anything else.

I've talked with the owner on occasion, and they are currently in the process of hiring some freelance staff. I believe the company is run by a grand total of 2 people, so they are slow to put stuff out. They were set up at GAMA, so they are not gone.

Well That is Good

Hey All,
Thanks for the info, I would really like 3.5 Xcrawl personally and I am glad to see they are still around. I am wondering if it is known what Xworld is, or is that Xcrawl 3.5. Thanks again.

Hey guys,

As a big fan of XCrawl, I thought I'd chime in to let you know that Pandahead is alive and well. I had dinner with Brendan last night (he's the creator of XCrawl), and I spoke with Brett (the publisher) a few weeks ago. They have some very, very cool stuff in the works. I will let them know about this thread so they can tell you about it themselves!

Alive And Well

Hi all! Joe Goodman--an all-around good man, actually--did indeed let me know about this thread, and I thought that I would respond. We are indeed alive and well. And, as Rich pointed out, we are a company of two, so things can be slow going. Though we are working to fix that.

What's coming up for Xcrawl? Well, we actually have three products coming out by the end of the summer. First and foremost, we have The NAE Sourcebook, due out end of May/first of June, which provides all of the information that you need to run a campaign in the NAE, outside of the crawl. After that we have the Color Edition of the Core Rulebook. The new Core Rulebook will be updated to 3.5, correct all of the stupid mistakes in the first edition, and have about 60 new pages of stuff--most notably a write-up on the gods and a new adventure module (the old one will become free on our site once the new book is out). After that we have AntarctiCrawl, which is not just an adventure, but also a major bit of source material for the meta-story of the game. (Can't say what, that's secret!) We also are hoping to get two more books out by the end of the year (depending), The Messianic Sourcebook, and Personalities of the NAE, with plenty more planned after that. In fact, we have enough lined up to get us past 2005 and into 2006. :)

Xworld--which we just decided to push back to a Christmas release (to make sure that it's done right!), is a different game from Xcrawl. They are both set in the same universe, but Xworld happens about 70 years before Xcrawl, during what we call The Great War. Well, technically, it's just before the start of The Great War. You get to play agents for the NAE going in and trying to stop The Axis before the actual war begins. Think of it as James Bond meets D&D in WWII and you're on the right path. It will be OGL and not pure d20, for those that wonder.

Oh, and we've put out a couple of releases since 3.5, by the way. Our catalogue consists of: The Core Rulebook, The GM Screen and Adventure Module, The Guild Sourcebook, Three Rivers Crawl, SellOut, and Emperor's Cup 4700.

Hope that answers the questions! Please let me know if you have any others!
