Though I know what you mean about the boiled peanuts. When driving back from Disney through other parts of the south we would see crock pots full of them at just about every gas station we stopped at.

For those who haven't suffered these, imagine biting into a piece of styrofoam that tastes like aerated* chalk, with a hint of orange rind that is probably more due to the artificial coloring than any artificial flavor.

* How do they aerate chalk, you may wonder? Well you will continue to wonder; I don't have an answer.

Nope. Ones I remember didn't taste peanut buttery, more molassasy. Dark and forboding.

Oh I remember quite liking those! Peanut butter taffy. I should hunt some down while it's still the season. Might even give that organic candy corn a try, though I am highly doubtful.
