What is your favorite race to play as?

I was playing humans when playing humans wasn't cool...

Now I still lean towards humans, but they get lotsa good stuff now. I might start playing half-elves....Just to protest.

Basically anything but Halflings.
Love to play dwarves (wonderful roleplaying potential from surprising your mates with new twists ), humans (for some concepts they're essential ), Aasimars (yep it's fun to struggle with one's own innate "goodness", hehe ) and the very occassional Elf ( they can be fun, but hard to keep interesting over the long run ). Not all that much in love with Thieflings (who labour under a terrible burden of clichees ) and gnomes (very hard to ignore that "mechanical tinker idiot" image they suffered from Dragonlance ).

With Eberron, am definitely looking forward to a Warforged and Changeling characters.... so many ideas, so little time

Humans. They're infinitely flexible.

I'll play any of the standard races, and most of the more normal non-standard races (drow, aasimar, tiefling, genasi, et cetera). I dislike playing monster races, and generally won't allow them in my game. (IMO most people that want to play wacky races (or bizarre concepts in general) "just to do something different for once" usually can't even play clichés well.)

Probably my least favorite race is the 3E halfling, but I'd still play one with a good concept.

Hybrid form half-drow with some fey blood in the background from the human side, dark vision 60 ft and just look somewhat like a drow, kinda, otherwise just an ordinary half-elf with darkvision

Race is rarely a factor in the character concepts I tend to come up with, so uh.. human I suppose. Though I did have one elf character I feel I was able to portray faithfully, and who I enjoyed playing.. so there is that *shrug*

Other than that, do Gelatinous Cubes count?

I prefer humans and elves (including a couple of subraces): the first because of the higher flexibility in multiclassing, and the bonuses which are small but exactly where I want them ;) ; the latter I prefer usually for non-combat characters, because of the ability bonus and the free archery proficiency.

Roleplay-wise I don't like very much strongly cliche'd races (such as basically everything except humans...). Ruleswise I don't like races with LA because I tend to consider the choice of class the centre of all my way of playing :)

Elves, in all their variations. Because of their elegance, and their affinity for chaos. Also, you can usually find a subrace that fits a certain class (ok, most of them have -2 Con, which hurts, but you can't just have strengths).

Beyond that, fey'ri (which are demonic tiefling elves) and full-fledged succubi/incubi are a world of fun.

All these choices lend themselves well to my favourite concept: The rogue - which can take the form of the actual rogue class, or of generally skilled and sneaky classes. ATM, I play a gestalt incubus (his monster HD make up one of the two classes) / soulknive, who will become an elocater soon (for the soulknive part) and either become rogue to continue after succubus is done, or advance in soulknive (or both).

I like characters with high Dex, Int and Cha, who can be sneaky and useful aout of combat, too.

Humans, for 20 years, definitely the most versatile role-playing option.
Elves close behind, for the challenge of getting in character. I currently focus on a star elf bard and a drow ranger/paladin, both FR characters.
The occasionnal half-orc or dwarf.

Usually, I stick to core races. Tried a couple planetouched since 3E. Don't trust high ECL races. I almost always avoided gnomes, and halflings. Still do.
