My icon/avatar is a quick sketch of me that Peter Bergting drew while we were in a boring meeting together a couple of years ago. Today I have cut my hair and shaved off my beard, but other than that, it's a fairly accurate representation.
My avatar is the Verrik Mage Blade from the J.P. Targete cover painting of "Mystic Secrets - The Lore of Word and Rune" for Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed. I had to obtain special permission to use this avatar.
I don't know if I post here enough to warrant explaining my avatar, but here goes:
That's the go play triangle behind some runes that should be imediately recognizable to anyone familiar with RenFaire junk jewelry. They're the Norse runes for my initials (starting in the center, then going left to right). I made that in MSPaint, hence the low quality.
Mine is Shi from the comic book of the same name. Never read the comic, but came across one at a used bookstore and really liked the cover art so made it into my avatar... or, rather, a friend cropped and optimized it for me so that I could use it as my avatar. Here is an expanded version of the same cover: http://www.darkhorse.com/profile/profile.php?sku=10-051
Just something I knocked out one day while doodling and haven't gotten around to changing in many years. It looks nothing like me, but I think it looks like one of the temporary players in one of my games a long time ago whose name I've forgotten.
That seems to be what a lot of people thought it was. I think it has something to do with the colors. You can tell it's a book if you stare at it, but on first glance it looks a lot like a strange helmet of some sort.
