About six months ago, I made a conscious decision to start using all the ready-to-go adventures I'd accumulated over the years and started a campaign with this in mind.

I lasted about four sessions before I felt the need to start tinkering inanely and run side-treks :)

At present, I'm mostly running published adventures with varying levels of tinkering.

Though I'll occasionally use a published adventure modified to fit my world or strip a published adventure for parts, published adventures can't take into account the facts of the group and campaign the way that a homebrewed one can.

Primarily? Homebrew adventures - but that's only because I personally don't believe I have enough published adventures to use at appropriate situations, locations, and levels. (And I buy loads of adventures - certainly Dungeon Mag as well as *everything* that NG puts out).

My preference, though, is an even 50/50 split between published adventures and homebrew adventures.
