No need to apologize; I think you make a very good point. Movies are supposed to be entertaining. I'm not going to pay $50+ to go watch some depressing movie that is going to teach me some vague lesson. A movie that provides a degree of escapism would be great.Anything that offers a degree of escapism. I don't want a cathartic experience, I don't watch movies about terrible things because they're supposed to teach me something, or make me feel better about myself because I'm aware of everything that's wring with the world. Sorry, I know there are plenty of things wrong in the world, and me seeing a movie about them isn't going to help. Give me something mindless and entertaining, and I'll save my concern for those less fortunate than myself for when I'm donating to or working for charity or another occasion when it might actually mean something.
(Sorry, I went off on a bit of a rant there. It's one of my pet peeves.)
