The Night Below - About halfway through the second book, this one is being modified with Gates of Firestorm Peak and the Dungeon adventure Kingdom of the Ghouls. It's going to be blast!
Nice series. :)

Watch out for all the loot in Gates of Firestorm Peak. That damn Axe +3 that lets you Heal 3/day was a killer. The only reason I left all the loot in was this was going to be the finale for that campaign, but we ended up running them for another 10 levels and 1.5 editions!

stupid axe

RTTTOEE.

I will include details in an sblock SO I DON'T SPOIL THE MODULE.
FreeTheSlaves, it'd be nice if you'd edit your message and do the same.

[sblock]They just entered the Outer Fane. It's taken over 2 years to get to this point in real-time, and about 6 months in game-time. All four temples are down, and they just mowed through the Air Door defenses. Ukemil is running away. Chymon has been alerted.[/sblock]

*is glad to see the best dungeon in d20 is getting some love.* Well I think it's the best dungeon...

Rappan Athuk forever! :D

At the moment ... none. :) I haven't ran one of these things in a while. Last one I was involved in was hand made. Treebore is critiqueing it and going over it with a fine tooth comb at the moment for my rules inconsistencies ... a weakness of mine to be sure. :\

Last I READ was L3: Deep Dwarven Delve. I enjoyed it.

Actually, the only problem, other than being hand written, is order of presentation. So far your rules usage has been spot on. Plus you have a lot of elements in your Adventure that I wish I saw more of in published adventures. Mainly I like how much you go into personalities and motivations. I'm only about a 100 pages into it, but I think you can be very happy with what you have written.

BTW, I have not gotten e-mail from you for weeks, now. Something wierd must be going on since you have obviously gotten mine. Try PMing me via ENWorld. Maybe your e-mails are being re-routed, blocked, something.

As for what I am running, the Against the Giants series. They have finished the Hill Giants and are getting in big trouble with the Frost Giants. I'll see if they can pull their fat out of the fire tonight.

in the cult of the reptile gods next to the keep on the borderlands in search of the unknown village of hommlet by the temple of elemental evil with a forest oracle, sentinel. gauntlet, and lost city. with sidetreks to the steading of the hill giant chief, glacier rift of the frost giant jarl, hall of the fire giant king, descending to the depths of the earth, etc...

How is it going? Are you doing it as is or are you changing things up? Did you prepapre heavily for it or are you just reading it as you play? Modules are always fun and we need to talk about them more.

it is going well. as it fits the campaign. which means making adjustments. i have over 27 years worth of notes prepared.

Thank you for the kind words! :)

As for pm'ing you via enworld, I do not have the account level necessary it seems. I sent you another email today, though, and added you to the yahoo im client i have. Perhaps that will work?

Sorry for the off topic material folks! Back to the thread.....

My Age of Worms group just finished up The Champion's Belt, which I had to mod a bit, seeing as there's seven players. It's a great module - plenty of roleplaying opportunities, and some nice, brutal combats. I'm currently prepping Gathering of Winds for them, which is requiring significant adjustments...

Ilthane the Black will be boosted by a few age categories, and will be ridden by a desperate Balabar Smenk, so I can use my roommate's Sorcerer on Black Dragon mini.
My players have been looking forward to this fight for a while... why should I disappoint them?

Demiurge out.

I'm playing in, for the first time [for all of us], Paul Jaquay's Caverns of Thracia, being run under AD&D rules (this is the original Judges Guild version, not the later NG conversion/reprint), and enjoying it immensely. We're about 1/2 way through the original ruined city, and last session (our 2nd), we began to delve into some of the various subterranean encounters. We've got a group of 8 PCs, all AD&D 4th levels (or 4/4 as the case may be).

....

I'm running Paul Jaquay's Caverns of Thracia as well. The fourth or fifth time for me. It's set in my homebrew world so you can imagine that its been tweaked, but still pretty much the same as the original. I have the NG reimagining, nice maps and art but prefer the orginal.

We are many sessions into the module, the players are methodical, which is probably why only 1 character has died, but there have been a couple pouring the heal potion down the throat calls. :) They also have made allies within the dungeon factions which has gone along way to accounting for their survival. They still haven't gone below the second level but have cleared all but one room on level 1 and those "ill-defined levels" if you know what I mean. :)

We started out as basically equivalent to 6 AD&D level 1-2 characters, now everyone is more like level 3.

After this, a transition outdoor adventure(s), then G1-G3 once they have enough levels.

See post above.

Are you doing it as is or are you changing things up?
Yes, but mostly in the politcal realm, setting based, e.g., changed names of gods, replaced monsters not found in setting with equivalents. Expanded greatly on relationships between factions, personalities of intelligent monsters, especially on the poor ones trapped guarding things for thousands of years. The Caverns are on an Island, so added another human faction, hey the evil guys need to get their sacrificial victims form somewhere. :)

Did you prepapre heavily for it or are you just reading it as you play?
I try to prepare but that has more to do with reading my notes, but often I wing it since this was my first module and I've been using it :gulp: for almost 30 years now! Last time had way too many Celebration ales and did have to read in the middle of the game, :( but hey they were not supposed to find that secret door!

Modules are always fun and we need to talk about them more.
