What monsters in a Slaver's Stockade?

What monsters would you put in a slaver's post? It's fairly isolated from civilization, but it's an important way station for them. The party level is about 12. Kytons came quickly to mind, but I'm drawing a blank on slaver-themed monsters. Anyone have suggestions?

Another good one is a Medusa.
A slaver is all about making money.
You have the Medusa turn the slaves into stone.
You save on the cost of food.
Less chance of escapes.
Easy to smuggle into a city.
Don't need as many guards. Less guards more cash in your pocket.
You can set up a store front to sell them. Less chance of being caught.
Easy to display.
Perfect setup for a slaver.

I'd assume that this plan falls apart once you have to eat the cost of a stone to flesh spell to make them back into viable slaves. Still, it's a profitable form of discipline: rather than killing the unruly slaves, you can sell them or keep them around in statue form as a deterrent.

Rust monster will be great, because the PC doesn't use metal armor or a metal weapon, making it a threat to her cohort, but not to her.

Penguin Herder
The slaves are separated into two pens to break apart groups who know each other. A pair of Doppelgangers, one per pen, each take the form of someone in the other pen to find and foil escape attempts.

The slavers keep bloodhounds to track any escapees, and just for their general intimidation factor.

There are no horses or other fast animals which can be individually ridden by an escapee. There are slow draft animals, perhaps, if the slaves ride in carts.

Mind Flayers ... their lawfulness would make them strict jailers, and their mental powers would allow them complete control of virtually everyone that comes and goes from the stockades.
