What nice things has a fellow EN Worlder done for you?

I am shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, to see smartass answers to a legitimate question here at ENWorld. ;)

The answer was fairly simple: less light.

My daughter has always kept a small lamp on in her room at night. She's not particularly afraid of the dark but we wanted to make sure she could see if she needs to go to the bathroom in the night. We simply changed out the lightbulb in the lamp for a very low wattage bulb so it's a lot dimmer in there now and it seems to have made all the difference.

She's had maybe one or two night terrors since April. Before that they were almost weekly.

I'll have to try that for my son, thanks for sharing Rel. We had an incident just last night.

Damn, there are some really nice things that ENWorlders have been doing for each other, eh? :)

I've had plenty done for me-free books, advice, places to stay, great times at GenCon & Gamedays, etc. But most of all, the best thing I have received from ENWorlders has to be the great friendships that I have been able to form with people who I see only a few times a year (and some I've never actually met). I'm not going to get into names because I know I'll forget someone, but the people I've gotten to know because of this place have made my life better. Thanks!

One year, one ENWorlder arranged to ship a poster and some other GenCon goodies, signed by a bunch of ENWorlders, as well as Gary Gygax, and sent it to me, free of charge. I was overwhelmed, and I treasure my signed poster very much. I'm not sure if it was a response to me saying I couldn't go to GenCon, or if they were doing it for people who couldn't go. I wish I could remember who arranged it, because it was long ago. Thank you guys who signed it; you know who you are.

EDIT: I remembered! I'm pretty sure it was PA who organized the thing and sent them out. I hope I'm right; PA, thanks again for bringing a little GenCon to a guy who couldn't go.

A few years ago I was looking for a specific mini to represent my character and the singles selection in my FLGS didn't have it. Cthulhu's Librarian sent it to me. Along with at least half a dozen others that were just repeats for him. Yeah, CL!

Another time I wanted to buy this little pdf. It was so little that it was below the minimum order amount at rpgnow. Breakdaddy added it to another order he was doing anyway and sent me the link.

i try as best i can to repay the kindness shown me.

i purchased ENWurld accounts for some.

i gave away products i got for judging. (not that i would have kept them) to those i felt would enjoy or use them.

and i continue to try and provide them with an interesting campaign. although, 99.9% of it is of their own doing. i'm just the referee. :D

The most generosity I've received actually came from Nothingland, but there's a lot of folks there that are here and vice versa.

My and my girlfriend got us a nice new place. I had a storage locker full of stuff from my old apartment, so we thought we pretty much had a household's worth of stuff ready to go. I go down to unload it, and long story short I got cleaned out. We had no bed, hardly any furniture or dishes, nothing. The only thing left was stuff that some thieves didn't think was good enough to steal. The really suck part is I had my 8 year old daughter with me and some of her toys were stolen, others were broken or tossed around the locker.

I started a thread just to talk about it, and the community came out in force. I wasn't trying to e-beg or anything, but they were adamant. They raised enough money for us to get some furniture, a bed, lots of household stuff, and to completely redecorate my daughter's new room. It was really touching, those guys are just awesome - and I'm sure some of them are over here. I don't know who gave or anything, but if it was one of you again, thank you, you rock.

So if you think those NTLers are just a bunch of meanies that like to use curse words and pick on people, you don't know what you're talking about. They really pulled me up when I needed it. :)
