What nice things has a fellow EN Worlder done for you?

I have stolen borrowed, er, used numerous monsters from Frank the DM, among others posting them here.

I am truly grateful when people put their creative work up for view on the nets. I use it and I appreciate it. +1 karma, y'all.

Echohawk offered to send me a used Kenzer screen... I stupidly turned him down because my FLGS guy thought he could get it in

I've said before that the eerie thing about the ENWorlders I've met is how almost universally likeable they are. And generous to boot.

alsih2o helped with the very first NC Game Day by sending us some bumper stickers that were a big hit. And Mark with CMG has always, always supported every Game Day including ours with free products.

BelenUmeria has become a good friend and a year or so ago he came to the Game Day with a case full of pewter minis that he no longer wanted and just handed it to me. I almost dropped it because it weighed so much! There were 200 Reaper minis in there.

Cthulhu's Librarian has been a great friend to me by putting together a memorial for GenCon for (among others) my friend The Lone Corndog. The following year he was one of my roommates at GenCon and let me stay over at his house on the ride to and from as well as offering fantastic advice to a GenCon newb.

Henry is another person who has become a great friend. He thinks I invite him to stay with me for the Game Days out of generousity but he's just so damn fun to talk to that I can't help myself. Plus my daughter loves him. AND he's been generous in loaning me books over the years. I still have one of them that I need to return to him.

Piratecat also stayed with us at the last Game Day and gave us some great advice about fixing my daughter's night terrors. I'm pleased to report that she's had virtually NONE since we put that advice into effect.

I'm totally excited that I get to see everybody again in a couple weeks!

Okay ... I must know this secret. Just in case I decide to make some little dragonlords of my own one day.

Well, Night Terrors are also known as Incubus Attacks. As a sleep expert and a D&D player, Piratecat knew this, so he recommended a warding circle of Protection from Evil around her bed made of cold iron shavings. Also, he chided Rel to stop summoning Incubi in the ritual chamber under his house and giving them pointers, public service though it may be.

Ahh, yes! I should have known. The old sprinkled-circle-of-cold-iron-shavings-ward-around-the-daughter's-bed trick. That old chestnut. That's one of my favorites.

<sigh>

I am shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, to see smartass answers to a legitimate question here at ENWorld. ;)

The answer was fairly simple: less light.

My daughter has always kept a small lamp on in her room at night. She's not particularly afraid of the dark but we wanted to make sure she could see if she needs to go to the bathroom in the night. We simply changed out the lightbulb in the lamp for a very low wattage bulb so it's a lot dimmer in there now and it seems to have made all the difference.

She's had maybe one or two night terrors since April. Before that they were almost weekly.
