What race can you not bring yourself to play?

Gnomes.

Nothing bad about the race itself, but the name is "wrong".

Gnomes are 6" tall and help shoemakers make shoes while the shoemaker sleeps.

Take the D&D gnome race and change it to something else...then I'd be more likely to play them.

Halflings. I hate the idea of having nasty hairy feet and being small, although gnomes are my favorites, mostly because of how much everyone hates them. I also couldn't bring myself to play as a monster or any of that weird stuff, I like to keep it simple.

Hmmm... Y'know, I don't there is a PC race that I couldn't bring myself to play if I had to.

That said - I'm not big on the wee folk, but I've played my fair share of Halflings and Gnomes over the years. Though these days, as soon as I see one I start thinking Half-flails and Gnome-chucks and those goofy chubby Halfling illos in those early Dragon Mags (you know the ones... ;)). The truly silly ones like say, the Kender or the Gully Dwarves you'd have a tough time getting me to play but I know I've played them both at least once over the years.

I've played all the standard (core D&D) races and I like each one.

However, with the introduction of Eberron, I can't seem to find the will to play a Warforged. I mean--ever count the toes? I can't put my finger on why exactly I don't like them, but this does answer the question.

Elf and half-Elf. Don't like them and don't play them. Most often i play humans but I have played 1/2 Orcs, dwarves, halflings, pretty much most of the core classes (even elf once).

Halflings. Never liked the buggers. You want me to play a size Small PC, give me a kobold or goblin.

I would have added elves to the list, until I started playing an elf fighter/ranger who has humans as a favoured enemy... he trained for a war that ended decades ago. At least the concept justifies the stereotype of the elven arrogant ass.

Gnomes, Half-Elves, Half-Orcs, Dwarves. All icky.

Humans, Elves, Halflings -- all okay. Kobolds, also okay, and a decent replacement for Halflings.
