What rules have you let slide for a creative player?

Depending on the character and the game system I am using, almost any rule is open to flexibiltiy, alteration, or evern outright dismissal.

Then again, our games are more about the story than the rules; other people are less interested in that line.

More or less, same here. The rules get remembered when a question or dispute comes up in our shared epic storyline. And as a conveinient framework to losely benchmark character capabilities. In the vast majority of cases, we sort of roll the dice and eyeball if it looks high enough for the challenge at hand.

I've let go of tons of feat prereqs if the reasoning seemed to make sense. I play combat pretty fast and loose and don't bother looking up rules for the more creative, swashbuckly descriptions; just making a quick ruling (counting all kinds of weird leap attacks as charge attacks is a common and consistent one.) I'm not much of a rules junkie, and my players aren't abusive of that, which is good.
