What setting is the PHB set in?

Currently our DM wants to start a new campaign but with the 'normal' dieties, ie. Pelor, kord, etc. The world in which most published adventures are set. However i'm having a dispute about what world it actaully is set in.
The WotC adventures are set in Greyhawk, these by no means make up a majority of the available adventures. There is probably over 10,000 adventures available for 3e (and 9,000 or them are low level - but that's another rant).

I saw it's in Greyhawk.

He says its a 'nuetral' world.

What is it?

When setting information is provided in the core books Greyhawk is the setting it is provided about. If he wants a minimal resources game I suggest picking up TH:ROE and playing in the time when Earth and Gothos overlap cause the PCs won't live long enough to need supliments.:D

Also note that while the PHB is nominally "set" in Greyhawk, the SRD isn't.

Sword. Efficient Quiver.

Bah.

(Although I admit, there's a passage in a Salvatore novel where two wizards are casting Bigby's Hand spells and Tenser's Transformation... and it just seems wrong, somehow.)

It's not really in any setting at all. Greyhawk is the 'default', but that only really means that when the rules really, really need to refrence to something that's world specific (like Gods or the cosmoligy) they go with greyhawk. Greyhawk lite is a nice way to put it (there's nothing accualy about the setting in the books, just aspects that are incorprated at need), though I prefer to just call it the default or generic setting, myself.

well, is there a Book for greyhawk? such as the FRCS?

Even if there was, it would do you no good because your DM has said he's setting the campaign in a neutral world. It just happens to have gods with the same names as the GH gods.

Same as I do. Note also that Greyhawk is a campain setting and not necessarily a geographical region (City of Greyhawk would be of course). So as long as he doesn't use the maps, calendars etc it is a bit daft to call it Greyhawk. Though yes, the PHB is very Greyhawk compatible.

KaeYoss: Calling GreyHawk Grayhawk hurts my eyes quite a bit :)
