From someone's stuff, Aliens/Prometheus comes to the fore of my mind. I missed the game that came out in the 80's, but I did do my own version (it's rather poor, I've learned a lot since then).
I'm actually more of a fan of the Aliens: This Time It's War board/minis/war game than I am the RPG (system-wise). The RPG system is a bit too much for my tastes, but the minis game simplifies the system significantly and keeps the pace of action flowing fast.
Some pics @ FB in case anyone's curious: Facebook (you need a FB account, but the images should otherwise be publicly visible to all FB users).
Thief: dark Project should DEFINITELY be a D&D setting.
I don't normally go for steampunk settings, but I would happily make an exception for Thief!
Alien(s) just begs to be published as a Traveller setting.
I keep noodling on a Blue Planet/Eclipse Phase game in the Aliens/Prometheus universe....
