What should be turned into a RPG?

Chaosium did one around 1984 or so. It wasn't bad, unless you wanted to run something that wasn't set on the Ringworld, then you were kind of on your own. Nonetheless I recall it as being pretty good (provided you like BRP, which I do, though not as much as I did at the time).

Ringworld seems like a great little game. I've not run/played it yet, but I like the fact that it actually breaks down the process of describing a new species into game mechanics.

It seems like a game that would be fun to play with pure scientists... though I'd be a bit intimidated to try to run it for engineers! Now, if the person running the game had a good physics/engineering background and was reasonably adroit with the other sciences it could be a fine game indeed.

Certainly Ringworld could be run according to the more common tropes of role playing games, but I think that would miss some of its potential. The focus on scientific exploration opens up a whole new field of challenges for the hapless castaways.

No real info on that Doctor Who game though. :.-(

Yeah, unfortunately. Cubicle 7 makes one of my favorite games, Victoriana, which I'm using right now. If it's anything like Victoriana, the Doctor Who RPG from them will probably be neat and full of good story ideas, but a little complex rules-wise.

Man, if I keep promoting Cubicle 7 games, I'm going to be accused of viral marketing! They really do have a fun, narrative-focused idea of how RPGs should work, though.
