What should Bethesda's next title be?

Bethesda today is now one of the most important WRPG developers on the market and are know for their Elder Scrolls and Fallout titles, the former which is high fantasy and the latter which is post-apocalypse. What kind of game do you think they are going to make next? There are many possible things they could do, like make a new Planescape game, or their own Cthulhu game. They could also make their own superhero or pulp themed RPG. In fact, they could even make an adaptation for an existing tabletop game, like Shadowrun, Deadlands, Rifts, Traveller, and Legend of the Five Rings.

If they've got their own good game worlds, why license a PnP RPG?

Seriously, I think the tide has turned and instead of licensing paper RPGs, you're seeing more creative work going into building their own settings and rulesets. It's a lot more profitable for the companies, as license fees aren't needed (and licenses normally only last x amount of years).

X-COM!!
'cause their they only ones I'd trust NOT to making a CRAP lousy stupid mess of it, as seems to be occuring with the so-called "XCOM" game coming out that's got jack squat to do with the original awesome games, blech! :/

yes, XCOM is unusual to mention in RPG, but why not? it was awesome envisioning of a great scifi story, with squads of soldiers, research etc that could all be blended inro great RPG action. It was strongly influenced by the "UFO" TV show, so it'd be perfect for RPG treatment

How many of ya back in the day got the creeps fighting those gawd DAMN chrysalids in the dark city areas, eh? hehe ;) Hated those buggers, before you knew it half yer squads infected and zombies are everywhere

Or swore out loud in RL as you heard the unmistakable sound of a blaster bomb being launched, yer jaw dropping as the blue trialof death flew across the screen and you knew all your carefully hoarded/trained squad was gonna get vapourized? (was a great weapon in game, "smart" wepaon, you could set way points for the mini-nuke missile to fly along)

so much could be done with that game,
-more espionage (spy on corrupt/taken over politicians, sue funds ot set up surveillance like ECHELON etc)
-make your bases in 3D (build sentry guns etc to defend 'em)
-more stuff with your squad members like a video clip of them as a perosnal profile so they mean more ot you
-could make it have DLC, each part of the game is one country or region, with their soldiers/special forces/agents, ie, USA/Canada/Mexico, EU, Russia, China etc
-Will you rescue citizens at "terror sites" and perhaps gain valuable info, or vape them to stop spread of alien infectors (is your team bloodthirsty or more humanitarian? have "morals" and "persuasion/psychology" as a "stat"?)

etc etc :)

How is Fallout 4 progressing? Im pretty sure this will be next on their menu with the success of both 3 and New Vegas. I think the engine will get a major update. Fallout 4 may not of been announced but i think its more than likely 'next on the list' after the new Elder scrolls.

I hate to say it, but I still haven't finished Elder Scrolls IV. I guess I should put another few dozen hours into the game and crank it out so I'm ready for whatever is released next.

I quite sure it will be, the whole reason they picked up the Fallout rights is because higher ups talked to Howard and said they needed something else to release between Elder Scrolls games and asked what property he'd like, he said Fallout fully expecting a no. Months later he was told they now had the rights to it.
