What to do?

Hello,
I've been wargaming for 6 years now, playing warhammer and other such associated games. Late last year my group started playing Inquisitor, it's sorta a role-playing minitures game and now we want to start D&D 3rd Ed. I was just wondering what would be the best "thing" to start off with?
Thanks

DM guide, and monsters manual too...you only need 1 of each though...the other books are kinda fluff stuff...

If you mean adventure though, I'd recommend the Sunless Citadel. It has good opportunities for role-playing, traps, and combat all rolled into an easy to use package designed for new players and DMs to use.

I ran the sunless citidel for my friends last fall, it went over quite well, they left with two new NPC's in tow and much fun was had by all. I can definaitly see why this is a popular module, If I were you that's where I'd start too.

If you want to stick with the sci-fi genre, you can get the core books and Dragonstar.
I run a chaos warbands version of 40K using DnD3E rules and the players and I have a blast. I wrote to GW for permission to upload the material to a site and I am in the waiting process right now.
