Sort of this. I use the 2024 rules but they subsume 2014 pretty seamlessly, so when players use older species or subclasses, or I use older monsters or whatever, it’s not noticeable. So I use “5e.” From my player’s perspectives, we just play D&D; they mostly don’t know or care about editions and updates and so on.5e ecosystem is the complete answer. My table allows and thrives off of the major rule sets released in the Creative Commons.
