5e ecosystem is the complete answer. My table allows and thrives off of the major rule sets released in the Creative Commons.
Sort of this. I use the 2024 rules but they subsume 2014 pretty seamlessly, so when players use older species or subclasses, or I use older monsters or whatever, it’s not noticeable. So I use “5e.” From my player’s perspectives, we just play D&D; they mostly don’t know or care about editions and updates and so on.

Primarily A5E, so I voted 5e14. Also some occasional OSE.

I am running two 2014 5e games (with house rules) and play in one (with almost no house rules - much to my chagrin <---edit to add that I don't even mean I wish it used my own houserules, I just like houserules  )

Shouldn’t there be a choice for homebrewed version of 5e? That will be my answer when I am done with these current games.

I play PH only 5.0 with my kids, and A5e with mods with my friends. I also play DCC and/or Shadowdark when my friends who like those games can get together. I'm also fond of several games that most closely emulate B/X or BECMI of the official versions, but haven't been able to get a group together for them.
