DND wise: 5E(2014)+ToV+5E(2024)

Older DND Edition Wise: OSE+Dolmenwood+B/X compatibility. (I want to do 2E via For Gold and Glory while adding in the Historical Book supplement and stuff like Book of The Elves).

OSR: Currently DMing an ongoing Mork Borg "campaign" for the weekly Thursday Game Nights. So far, everybody is having a blast with it.

Pulled up the menu for maybe our best not-super-formal but still very nice restaurants in Columbia, SC. Appetizers are $12-19, main courses $25-$46, soup and salad $6-$12, and dessert $9.

I think dinner with salad and soft drink at our casual neighborhood Greek/Italian place has probably been averaging around $20 a person.

Habitual bagel place is about $13.50 for a sausage, egg, and cheese on bagel; fruit salad; and soft-drink or tea.

McDonald's wanted something over $6 for a cheeseburger and soft-drink yesterday on the way home from work. After they took a while to realize I was there, misheard my tea order and didn't stick on long enough for me to correct it to unsweet, and then took several minutes with the car in front of me at the register (at one point I told myself they had 3 minutes when I noticed they were slow - apparently they don't keep change at the window?) so I just drove off. If they aren't fast or cheap I'm not sure what purpose they serve.

Your appetizers are about same price as our mains. They're usually $12-18 unless you're fine dining or steak.

Guy sent me a menu for Indian curries in WV. It cost him $70 or so for 3.

Local places here is $30 for two including drinks and a naan.

Cheeseburger in a brioche bun is $6 at our D&D spot.

I was about to say, "my own custom version that arguably may not be D&D anymore" but then I remembered that of course I'm also in a Tyranny of Dragons game. My character's a 5e character, but the GM has explicitly allowed us to use anything from 5.5 from D&D Beyond that we want. Given that I haven't even read the 5e PHB yet, I'm not really interested in moving on yet. I don't know what you call that, but I picked 5e since that's what my character is, at least. I know some of the other characters have updated their mechanics to 5.5.
