What videogames are you playing in 2026?

I recently started "The Last Caretaker". Sail around on a ship, collect materials, activate beacons, fight various monsters and a mechanical shark, and save humanity. Very cool.

After sating myself on Donkey Kong Bananza, I have now been playing Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. It's fun, classic Dynasty Warriors gameplay, runs silky smooth on the Switch 2.

Dropped Outer Worlds after the first planet; I love the setting and especially the characters but boy has the gameplay not aged well at all.

Meanwhile Skyrim remains fun as hell and I've so far made it to the mid-40's levels without going stealth archer, which is absolutely a record for me.

I am still unable to cure my Baldur’s Gate 3 addiction; coming to the end of a Dark Urge resist run. I feel very mixed about the writing for the character; I don’t think it works particularly well:l. The dialogue options are all “Raaagh I will bathe in you blood!” or “I’d love to l eat your spleen… but I mustn’t!”. But there’s no cost or check to resist the Urge (with a couple of exceptions) which get me feeling all ludonarratively dissonant - the urge doesn’t feel real at all. Still, I love the game so still happy enough to have a different experience with it.
