What was your 2nd RPG?

Technically, my first ever session was a dude's place that my school friend was playing every week. They had a 2E campaign going for like two years. I played one session and didn't really enjoy it. So 2E would be my first TTRPG ever.

The following year my math teacher in high school organized D&D lunches and I was introduced to 3E. Next week I had bought the Player's Handbook. So 3E would be my second?

If we count D&D all as one, the second one would be Starfinder on launch around 2017/2018.

Like many, my first game was D&D (in my case AD&D 1e) I've always had a love/hate relationship with the game. After my first session, I thought "this was great but there must be a better way - I hated the class/level mechanics.

My second through fourth games, all in a 4 month period were Call of Cthulhu/Champions/Fantasy Hero and my love for point-based, design based systems was born.

After AD&D (1st, PHB then DMG; MM came later and somebody else had one to tide us over) came Traveller (the deluxe boxed set including LBB 0-3, Adventure 0, Starchart of the Spinward Marches, and dice - £10 back in the day!)

I'm going to lump the various D&Ds into one pile because we played them interchangeably (and incorrecetly).

After that however, I was buying a lot of rpgs and just theorycrafting with my friends about all of the games we were GOING to run. It was all mostly Palladium. Palladium Fantasy, Rifts, Robotech, TMNT. I'm certain that I made characters for Mechwarrior and Shadowrun, but I don't think we ever got around to playing either of them.

As to what game I actually played after D&D, I'm fairly certain that it was Paranoia.
