What will be "The Next Big Thing"?

I'm talking about in gaming in general. The 70's bought us D&D and the birth of RPGs as we know them; the 80's gave us gamebooks (Like Fighting Fantasy and Lone Wolf) and popularized (is that even a word? ) wargaming through Warhammer. The 90's bought about CCG's and Magic The Gathering. What will be the groundbreaking system of the 00's? Any ideas? What would you like to see make it big?

Hehe, I did a similar question about a month ago. If I remember correctly it got a lot of replies. Maybe someone with search can find it. :)

Thanks Dragongirl. Not quite what I was asking, but I remember that thread and it was quite interesting. What I'm asking here though is what will be the next innovative game design. The next fad. The next "Big Thing" that evertone is going to want to play and own.

From what I've seen, the 'click miniatures' are getting pretty big: Mage Knight, Battletech, HeroClix. It's definitely expanding the miniatures market into the more casual gamer.

Ya realized that after I found the old thread sorry. Personally I don't see a general fad in the near future. With D20 things have gotten such a larger array of products, it isn't so tied up into what one company is doing anymore.

D20 and Open System, it put new life into the gaming market and has given the players a lot of choices in the game.

NWN, design and run games online. While this product is not perfect it can be in a couple of versions.
