D&D 3E/3.5 What would a 3.5 monster type be for an enchanted creature?

I need to convert a magic item from Expert D&D that has a special effect against Undead and Enchanted creatures.

Undead are easy enough, but what monster type(s) would best represent 'enchanted creatures'?

Augmented Subtype?

Seriously... IF memory serves, this was directed at anything "magical" correct?

So, it could encompass any creature that casts spells, has Su abilities, or Sp abilities.

YMMV

Magical Beast?
Outsider?

I agree with either the subtype (Augmented Animal) or type Magical Beast, which includes the aforementioned subtype.

I wish I had that ruleset in front of me, but I suspect that "Enchanted creatures" may have been the equivalent of "summoned or conjured creatures".

The best thing would be to find wherever in those rules they precisely define "Enchanted creatures", post that, and then we can translate appropriately.

According to Rules Cyclopedia, "enchanted creatures" were those that were either immune to non-magical weapons, or summoned somehow. So, I'd make it get the bonus against all creatures with a non-damage-type based DR, plus those that are summoned.

Interesting. To fully fold it into 3rd Edition, I might recommend converting it into "Undead, Outsiders, and Elementals" or something like that.

Here's a description of the item. It's from X4-Master of the Desert Nomads:

Hidden by the illusion is
a miniature (6? long) spear. This is a Spear of Panic. When a
character attempts to hit with the spear, it will magically grow out
to 10, allowing any target within 10 to be attacked. The spear has
no bonuses to hit and only does 1-6 points of damage. However, if
the spear strikes an enchanted or undead creature, the creature
will automatically flee from the combat.

How about this- make it a magic spear that only 'activates' against creatures with some sort of DR or conjured creatures. Otherwise, it's just a masterwork spear (longspear?).
