Plus, they wouldn't be investing in getting the D&D movie rights back if they were thinking of hiving off the D&D trademarks any time soon.

I don't think that Hasbro is planning on selling off D&D, or likely will anytime remotely soon. However in reference to the above, I see it as the exact opposite. If they wanted to sell it they would absolutely want the movie rights back in order to increase the potential value of the IP and its potential sale price.
