What would you give a 13th level Wizard

I'm not sure what the starting character wealth for a 13th level character is because I am at work. But if you had that ammount of money (what ever it is :) ), what would you buy (magic item or otherwise) for your elven wizard.

Allowed books:

Any WoTC product
Any Forgotten Realms book (Magic of Faerun ect...)
Path of Magic
Dragon Magazines

Why don't you add your own list and allow some of us to tweak it so we can help you get something close to the character concept you have? Or, at the least, give us an idea of the type of character you want to play? :)

I'd drop some of that money in Boccob's Blessed Books. Are you allowing characters w/ item creation feats to get starting gear they might feasibly have made at lower cost? If so, does this wizard have any other item creation feats besides scribe scroll? Specialist or generic wizard? What's the rest of the party make up, generally? Remember to set aside a good chunk of change for spells.

The Wizard will be a specialist Abjuration wizard with no item creation feats and will be taking the Iccantrix prestige class from Magic of Faerun.

Lots of metamagic feats.

Rest of the party:

18 level wizard/ Archmage
15 level Fighter/Templar
16 level Monk
17 level Cleric
17? level Paladin
14 level Rogue/Virtuoso

There are some other hanger ons as well...

This wizard is going to be a npc cohort of one of the PC's. This guy will probablly have Enchantment as his opposition school.

Well how bout a headband on intellect +6? Only 36000gp

I saw them at Walmart for 29999 g.p. :D

Seriously though, do like Mark said, and we'll peruse it and make comments.

Bracers of defense come to mind, along with a ring of protection, the headband on intellect +6 IS a must. If you can spare it, add in a cloak for better saves.

Which PC's cohort and what is that PC like? It's good to have a cohort that can do some of the things a PC cannot do themselves. :)
