"What'd you do this weekend?" Our game for EGG

So Monday morning rolls around and your coworkers, non-gamer or otherwise, ask you that question. What did you do over the weekend? Lost a galactic war and a zombie tried to seduce me.

Do you give them the general, "did some gaming" or describe all the gory details? Of course if you don't reveal your geek nature you probably give even less detail. I used to do that but the longer I stay at the job the more likely I say things just to hear my coworkers reactions.

And to explain my own original answers, I played the Starcraft board game and lost. My first time playing but it was fun, though lots of fidgety rules. The Protoss player won by basically sitting back and collecting victory points. The second part comes from our DM's liberal corruption of the animate dead rules and wanting to remind us of the evil being we acquired our ill gotten gains from.

So what did you do on your weekend?

Well I helped what was left of humanity to ascend to a higher plane of existance.

But that was on computer so I don't know if that counts. I don't really talk about personal life at work though there is one guy with whom I share roleplaying experiences from time to time. If people do ask what we are talking about then those are the kind of answers we tend to give.

I continued to use my natural ability to wield a baseball bat to fight criminal organizations and lifeforms in Rhode Island to save a city and the world. Yesterday I even joined a special task force to pursue a particular problem and with luck we'll be able to wrap up what we started tonight.

[City of Heroes]

Hunted dinosaurs and giant simians with six other men from all over the country. (guild wars)
Tried to get several members of the nobility arrested. (D&D)
Drove my American armies to kill off the Spanish and Russians, fought the French until they gave up. (Civ IV)
Tried to save the realtionship between a tiefling witch and a elderin ranger after an accident involving a truck driven by kobold skirmishers in new york. (Dream)
Test drove a cars - 2 hybrids and a corolla. (IRL and what is actually mentioned to coworkers)
I am so a closet gamer.

No one besides my cousins and brother from my circle of friends, family, co workers knows about my gaming. I spend two days a week playing DnD campaigns, which I go to another country for!!! At home, I then spend time playing Heroes of Might and Magic V, Boulder's Gate II, Diablo II (am waiting for Diablo III  ), Neverwinter Nights and so on...
So my weekend consisted of:
1) Travelling to top of a sky mountain, surviving an ice storm and an avalanche, beating out a couple of giants, meeting a titan and then proceeding to steal gold from a dragon
2) Arriving to a city of 10 million, where I got lost, getting forced (because a friend was foolish enough to admit that she's a thief to a theif guild captain) to do a favor for the guild in return for our lives (at the moment I'm thinking that death would have been a more preferable option than the favor).
3) Battling the forces of evil in Kurast (getting Kalim's heart)
4) Building a splendid city of Sylvan and capturing about 7 new mines for my own personal use.

Well, but for my friends, family and co workers I was home cleaning the house, cooking food and studying for exams.

Well, this weekend we are going to explore the Tomb of Horrors, our tribute to Gary. I'll be running the revised 3E version from the WotC website. We may do an all day session.

I showed Napoleon and Elizabeth that there was more profit in serving as the vassals of Mansa Musa than there was in falling before his war machine.

Tee-hee.

Better than spilling the blood of your armies like water on the walls of Carthage, anyway.

(Punks got a galleon full of reinforcements through that prolonged the siege by 2 turns, dammit)

I hope some of us got to Gary's funeral but for those who didn't what did you do to celebrate our dear Gary's departure?

Thanks to ENWorld my screen name was on a banner they printed and sent to the ceremony.

When Saturday came, we had our first marathon game experience is years. In 2 waves. I ran the 3.5 Tomb of Horrors revision from WotC starting around noon. By 6 or 7pm they had made it half way and two people in our group had to leave. Which was fine because 2 others had just called to find out if we were still going. I did an old fashioned 'roll for treasure' when they found the dead body in the spider hole, (thanks to another random roll using Bits of Darkness: Dungeons, from Tabletop Adventures).

So they got situated and coincidentally the next room was the false crypt and thus a long battle ensued. This left us around 8:30pm. I was still ready to play and since the 2 who had come for the 2nd shift basically spent all their time in 1 battle, I tried to convince them there were only 4 or 5 big rooms left.

As it was, we decided to just cut to the climactic battle. It took them too long to prepare but that is another story and finally they stepped in and rolled for initiative.

The demilich in the revised version is not the same as the original, consequently, they would have gotten soul sucked 1 by 1 had I not declared at the beginning of the game that "psionics are completely different from magic". One of the players was a psion and he found that his powers (along with a sword the rogue happen to choose in character creation) were the most effective at damaging the BBEG.

They only lost 1 party member, though I had the demilich suck up a couple summoned critters when it would have clearly been better to go for the party members. The rogue died twice earlier, but the cleric brought him back, sans a few levels, and actually made his save against the soul sucking, which was awesome since he rolled a natural 1 on a Reflex save against a fireball.
